History of Berryplants

Berryplants was started in 1995 by David Hopkins and Tony Bentley, both David and Tony had previously worked within the Strawberry propagation industry for both W H Cragg and Commercial Fruit Plants.  The launch of our website in 2015 coincides with our 20th year of trading.

We still operate from the home farm based in Newchurch on Romney Marsh where Bill Cragg started growing fruit and propagating Strawberry plants more than 60 years ago.

Whilst Romney Marsh still remains our base as the home of our substrate produced plants,we no longer grow field raised plants here due to the prodominance of heavy soil types.  As the soft fruit industry has developed into it's modern high tech form, we have adapted by moving our plant propagation to areas around the world where the Agri infastructure available provides the best facilities for propagating each plant format.

More recently the company has diversified into ornamental plant production which helps provide a 12 month product cycle.
